2015 Orange Grove Quilters Live Auction and Tea October 3

2015 Orange Grove Quilters Live Auction and Tea October 3

Our bi-annual Tea and Quilt Auction is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd.

It’s not too early to start asking friends and family to attend! Pre-sale tickets are $5.00, and will be available at Guild meetings. At the door they are $7.  We will need everyone’s help to make this event successful.

Here are things you can do:

Donate to the Auction! Make and donate a quilt of any size – holiday items are especially popular!

Quilts, Table Runners, Tree Skirts, Wall Hangings

Fill out a form in the June, July/August disPatcher for EACH item donated. Please submit the form to Susan MacVicar or Elaine Ohgi with photo ASAP, even if the item is not completed.

Completed item and form must be turned in no later than the General Meeting on September 9.

Opportunity Baskets

Thank you to those of you who have already made donations. It’s a start but we still have a lot of room left to fill in the baskets. A friendship group has picked up the Halloween basket; so, we still need items for the following four themes:
Christmas
Romance
Fat Quarters
Coffee & Tea

All we need to make them wonderful are your donations of preferably new or very gently used items. Some suggestions discussed at the meeting were fabric, patterns, books, notions, & Christmas decor. For Romance, we’re thinking along the lines of wine, chocolate, candles, lotion, etc. Think about what special item would catch your eye in a basket! There will be a bin at the auction table for your generous donations.

If there’s another Friendship group that would like to take the lead on a basket, please email me at msletto@aol.com

Thanks, MaryAnne Sletto, Basket Chairman

Make and donate items to sell at the boutique.

We will again be having a boutique of handmade items for sale. Please help by making and donating items. Make your donations exclusive – more is not necessarily better (10 or fewer of each item). Item ideas: pot holders, bags, jewelry, scarves, dish towels, placemats or any other ideas you
may have.
Fran Bodle and Sherry Lincoln are coordinating the boutique and can be contacted for any questions. You can bring items to any guild meeting. The deadline will be the September guild meeting. There will be a basket to collect your items at the meeting.
Thank you,
Fran Bodle

Bring food or volunteer to help.

Thanks! Judy Hughes, Committee Chair
