Orange Grove quilters have been very busy. On February 4, 17 people came to Sew Day and stitched, cut, made kits and quilts, and set up quilts for quilting. We were very productive and we had a good time.

We meet monthly at Driftwood recreation center at Driftwood Mobile Home Park at Beach and McFadden in Huntington Beach. If you have never joined us, consider this your invitation. We will meet again on March 3 at 9:30ish. We are usually done by 2:30.

At the February guild meeting 17 completed quilts were turned in. Seven quilt kits in need of quilting were distributed. Forty pillow cases were turned in. We will have more pillow case kits and quilt kits at the philanthropy table at our next guild meeting. Drop by and take a look,
ask questions, make comments and maybe even pick up a kit or two.

Panels make great quilts for children. They are the right size, are often characters or animals the child is comfortable with and a great way to practice your free motion quilting. Put a sandwich together and start driving your machine. We will even supply the backing and the binding if
need be. And some child will be so delighted to see Elsa, or Anna, or Mickey or Superman . . . you get the idea.

Or pick up one of our kits ready for quilting and practice away. I was told that if you practice free motion quilting for 30 minutes every day for 17 days you will have the hang of it and you never lose it. And some child will benefit too.

Thanks again,
Becky Meekhof
