“If it’s still an ugly fabric you need to cut it smaller.” Blanche Young, founder of our guild, loved the 9 patch block. In honor of that, we are having a quilt challenge to be hung as part of our 2016 quilt show.

The rules are simple.

The quilt must contain a 9 patch block.

The quilt must contain the two mystery fabrics. A mystery fabric pack is available at the library table at a cost of $2. It contains two fat quarters. You can use any other fabrics you want, but the mystery fabrics must be visible on the front of the quilt.

Only 40 packets are available.

Maximum size 120″ around the outside edge. Any shape, a 30″ square would equal 120″. Or the quilt could be a rectangle (like a table runner). Or the quilt could be teeny tiny- 120 inches is just the maximum. No bed sized quilts!

Winner of the challenge will be by viewer’s choice at the quilt show.

Finished quilts are due to be turned in at the March 2016 guild meeting.
